Need advice on dog food...
I think I've decided on which food to change Tank over to. I went to Petsmart and looked at basically every brand of dog food they had. I checked out Royal Canin and I just can't bring myself to pay $10.99 for a 5 lb. bag of dog food. So I kept looking and found this brand called Harvest Baked. It's about $6.99 for 10 lbs. and it looks like a good brand. Lots of veggies, meat is the first ingredient, no by-products or corn. Do any of you have any experience with Harvest Baked?
Tank is eating Flint River Ranch right now, but I think it's just too rich for his little tummy. Plus I think the kibble's a bit big for him. And one last question. Harvest baked has puppy food which it says to feed your dog till it is 1 year old. The adult dog food says to start feeding that at one year old...since Tank is a smaller breed and will be full grown before 1 year, would it be ok to feed him the adult dog food at about 8-10 months old? What do you all think? Any advice would be great! Thanks ya'll! |

Tank was on some dog food when I very first got him that you can only get in North Carolina...why the guy that sold him did that I dunno. So I switched him to Purina One puppy chow and then over to Flint River Ranch. I switched him very slowly each time and he's been on the Flint River for about 2 or 3 months now. He still has about half a bag of Flint River to go before I think about switching him, I just don't think this food is right for him. So it'll prolly still be another month to 2 months before I would switch him over to Harvest Baked.

AuthorityŽ Harvest Baked(TM) Chicken Puppy Dog Food Top Ten Ingredients Guaranteed Analysis Chicken Whole Ground Wheat Chicken Meal Whole Ground Barley Canola Oil Carrots Salmon Meal Dried Egg Product Spinach Tomatoes Protein 29.0% fat 15.0% Fiber3.0% Moisture10.0% Personally I would rather see all the ingredents not just the top ten, do you have a list of all the ingredents? I has a lot of grains, init, do you know what it is about the food you are feeding now that causes him a upset stomach? |

I don't know exactly. But I've heard other people say that their small dogs got diahrrea when they fed them Flint River Ranch and it's doing the same to Tank. I personally like the ingredients in Harvest Baked. Flint River seems to have a lot of the same ingredients as the Harvest Baked, but Harvest Baked has more veggies in it.

When I read the bags the other day, it said what Barnjess posted on the bag. It didn't say what you posted Faith cuz I try to avoid corn.
