Question Hearing heartbeats

I noticed in the pregnant dog's timeline that heartbeats can be heard at 6 wks and i have read on other sites it is at 8 wks. So my question is, what is the average time you have heard heartbeats? or should hear them by?

I always have a very difficult time hearing heartbeats. I couldn't hear them at all really unless I listened very carefully and I think she was about 8 weeks at that point. I found that feeling them move was a lot easier than listening for heartbeats too.

How far along is your dog? I wouldn't worry too much if you can't hear anything, it's pretty common not to.

She is 5 1/2 wks along. She was taking to the vet last week to confirm that she is with pups. I am very excited.

She is a two year old chi and this is her first litter. I also have a question about the corrugated plastic whelping boxes, how well do they hold up/last?

She is beautiful! I'm not sure about plastic whelping boxes, I use wooden ones that work well and are quite easy to make. I'm sure someone else will know more about them though!
