More advice with dog food needed....

Ok, so this new pet store called Care-A-Lot opened so my boyfriend and I went and checked it out. Ok, before I go on, I saw a Bernese Mountain Dog there. Talk about BEAUTIFUL! That dog was gorgeous! I LOVE their markings.

Anyway, lol. I saw that they sold Chicken Soup dog food and Diamond (shame shame).

And next, I need more advice on which dog food to feed my Chihuahua, Tank. This place seems to have a better selection of better quality foods than Petsmart has. Here are the brands they have that I'm looking at:

1. Canidae-Ingredients:
Chicken Meal, Turkey Meal, Brown Rice, White Rice, Lamb Meal, Chicken Fat, (Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Ascorbic Acid), Menhaden Fish Meal, Flax Seed, Sun Cured Alfalfa Meal, Sunflower Oil, Lecithin, Brewers Yeast, Natural Flavors, Monosodium Phosphate, Choline, Linoleic Acid, Rosemary Extract, Sage Extract, Ferrous Sulfate, Mixed Tocopherols (Source of Vitamin E) Zinc Oxide, Sodium Selenite, Manganous Oxide, Riboflavin Supplement (Source of B2), Yeast Culture, Dried Aspergillus Niger Fermentation Extract, Dried Aspergillus Oryzae Fermentation Extract, Dried Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Streptococcus Faecium Fermentation product, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Cobalt Amino Acid Chelate, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Niacin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, D- Biotin Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Calcium, Iodate, Thiamine Mononitrate, Folic Acid, Papain, Bacillus Subtilis, Aspergillus Niger, Yucca Schidigera Extract. *Note: I don't see any Omega 3 in the ingredients...and not much of a selection for different flavors (like chicken, lamb, etc.)

2. Premium Edge-Ingredients:
Chicken, chicken meal, whole grain brown rice, cracked pearled barley, white rice, turkey meal, chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), oatmeal, potatoes, millet, egg product, flaxseed, natural chicken flavor, kelp, carrots, peas, tomatoes, apples, cranberry powder, rosemary extract, parsley flake, potassium chloride, salt, choline chloride, dried chicory root, glucosamine hydrochloride, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate, manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, chondroitin sulfate, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, L-Carnitine, biotin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of vitamin K activity), riboflavin, vitamin D supplement, folic acid.
*Note: Still no Omega 3

3. Pro Plan (For small breeds)-Ingredients:
Chicken, brewers rice, corn gluten meal, poultry by-product meal, beef tallow preserved with mixed-tocopherols (source of Vitamin E), whole grain corn, corn bran, fish meal, natural flavors, egg product, potassium chloride, dicalcium phosphate, salt, choline chloride, L-Lysine monohydrochloride, vitamin supplements (E, A, B-12, D-3), taurine, zinc sulfate, ascorbic acid (source of Vitamin C), ferrous sulfate, riboflavin supplement, niacin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, biotin, thiamine mononitrate, folic acid, copper sulfate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, garlic oil, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), calcium iodate, sodium selenite.

4. Solid Gold (for small breeds)-Ingredients:
Bison | Salmon Meal | Millet | Brown Rice | Cracked Pearled Barley | Rice Bran | Canola Oil | Flaxseed Oil | Garlic | Amaranth | Blueberries | Yucca Schidigera Extract | Dried Chicory Root | Taurine | Carotene | Choline Chloride | Vitamin E Supplement | Iron Proteinate | Zinc Proteinate | Copper Proteinate | Manganese Proteinate | Potassium Iodide | Thiamine Mononitrate | Ascorbic Acid | Vitamin A Supplement | Biotin | Calcium Panthothenate | Selenomethionine | Pyridoxine Hydrochloride | Vitamin B12 Supplement | Riboflavin | Vitamin D Supplement | Folic Acid |*Note: Seems like it has good ingredients, but it is very expensive

5. Wellness-Ingredients:
Deboned Chicken, Chicken Meal, Oatmeal, Ground Barley, Ground Brown Rice, Rice Bran (from brown rice), Rye Flour, Canola Oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols, a natural source of vitamin E), Whitefish, Tomatoes (natural source of lycopene), Natural Chicken Flavor, Flaxseed, Ground Millet, Carrots, Apples, Spinach, Blueberries, Sweet Potatoes, Calcium Carbonate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Potassium Chloride.
Minerals: Zinc Sulfate, Zinc Proteinate (a chelated source of zinc), Iron Proteinate (a chelated source of iron), Ferrous Sulfate, Copper Proteinate (a chelated source of copper), Copper Sulfate, Manganese Proteinate (a chelated source of manganese), Manganese Sulfate, Sodium Selenite.

*Note: This looks like good food also but is pretty expensive, too.

Ok so guys, I need your advice. Which do you like the best out of these 5 foods? I really appreciate any advice you can give me! Thanks so much!

My choice from those would have to be Solid Gold. It's a high quality food, although some dogs have trouble digesting it- No dog I know personally has, but I have heard of a few.

I would also stay away from Wellness. I used to feed it to my cats, but after one of my cats got a urinary tract infection, I was told by my vet that a good number of other cats who had been eating Wellness had gotten either urinary tract infections or Struvite crystals. Two of my friend's cats who were eating Wellness have been diagnosed with Struvite crystals, and a girl who works at our local pet store who goes to pet food seminars regularly was told at one that studies had been done on the Senior Wellness cat food, and it was indeed causing the crystals. Obviously, that's cat food, not dog food, but if they can make mistakes like that with one, why not the other?

Of the foods you listed (with those ingredients), I would choose in this order...

1. Solid Gold
2. Canidae
3. Wellness

I have know nothing about Premium Edge, and Pro Plan would never be fed here.

I'm glad you said that Dobermom, cuz honestly with all of the recalls, I don't want Tank eating that. So I think I'll go with Solid Gold Thanks everyone!

i have fed my dogs solid gold and i really liked it but lately i have come to find out that solid gold has a lot of grains and it is prone to cause bloat. take 1 cup of solid gold and add water and ee how it expands! i know all dog food does but compre it to canidae, innova or innova evo. i have also heard not so good things about wellness which sucks because i used to love their food. my cat also got struvite crystals from feeding wellness cat food along w/ several other people's cats and, like savage destiny said if they can screw up w/ their cat food?

Yeah I'm not going with Wellness...now I'm just stumped. I was going to try Solid Gold though cuz I've heard a lot of good things about it. No food is perfect.
