Do you mean palpate the abdomen? I would not do that unless you know exactly what you are doing because it can be VERY dangerous.

You should get a vet to do it when she is 28-32 days along.

An experienced person can do it themselves by laying the dog on her side, sliding one palm beneath her and the other palm over her other side, just below her ribs. Then gently squeeze their palms together and feel for little golf balls, those are the puppies.

But I seriously wouldn't do it, get a vet to do it instead to avoid serious problems!

If she wasn't careful she could squeeze the babies out of the sack and kill them and possibly the mother dog also.

Are you talking about a boxer? How far along is she? I started feeling movement when mine was around 54 days, but she only had two puppies and was very small. You couldn't tell she was pregnant if not for her nipples, that was the only thing that changed, they started getting full, and big, and changing color a little bit.

I had a blood test done on her around 45 days.
