Question Dog treats and chews good for chi's??? Tips??

Hey guys!

I went to the local pet store to pick out some new treats and chews for C.C and Angel.

The lady there said that chi pups couldnt eat pig ears, or smoked chews. She didnt really say much else but is this true? What other chews shouldnt C.C be eating?? I was told that bull penis's were great for chi's and C.C loves them.

Why cant she eat pig ears? What chews and treats would be OK for a little breed like her?? Angel gets all sorts of stuff, so I want to figure out what stuff of Angels, C.C should stay away from.

I think I should pick up a good Chi book to.

thanks guys

Some people beilive that NO dogs should eat pigs ears or cow hooves. becouse of choking conscerns and worries that it isn't good for the dogs...

My dogs eat pigs ears... they get gas... but nothing worse

For little dogs I like nylabones, and nylabone Healthy Edibles, greenies and Pnutz are also something I like. Just choose an appropriate size!

Many people don't realize what they feed their dogs, it's worth it to do research, for example Bullyor Pizzle sticks... they are made from the *uh-hem* "best part" of the bull... hope I don't have to emphisis....

I give Tank milkbones, nyla bones, and the edible nyla bone looking ones. Tank LOVES them and they are great for pups that are teething. I don't give Tank rawhides or pig ears or anything like. I'm just paranoid. But either way, I give him smaller things.

Hi there, I give my little one Dingo bones. You can buy them in 7 packs and they are rawhide with jerky wrapped in them. He loves them. He doesn't usually eat the rawhide, but loves tearing that jerky out of them. They come in larger sizes as singles too. The little ones are perfect and my pup weighs 6-7 pounds. I also feed him pig ears and these other things called bully sticks (don't want to know what part of the anatomy they are from) LOL. He loves them but I take them away half way through or he gets runny poops. EWWW. He only gets those about once a month or so. I also occasionally give him greenies or Dingo chicken strips. Plus he has a Kong treat ball that I fill with treats and a little Kong that I stuff with treats and peanut butter and stick in the freezer. That keeps him busy for a little bit. Hope that helps : )

My Papillon looooves bully sticks. He got greenies to chew on as a baby, one medium sized greenie would last my tiny dog about a week because those puppy teeth couldn't do anything more than scratch at the treat. He got pressed rawhide, which lasted forever too. For treats, he would get a marrobone biscuit every day.
Hmm, as far as other chews go.. As a puppy he LOVED nylabones. Not the hard plastic ones, mind you, but the soft flexible ones.

He's not a chewer anymore, though. He just prefers to play with balls and stuffed toys than to chew on nylabones or kongs.

I give my squirts the pizzle (sometimes called Bully sticks) sticks. I buy the small braided ones. I order them from PetEdge.com (they do have a 60.00 min though or else there's a 6.95 service fee) I usually go in with a friend or two to make up a full order. Their prices are so low!

It doesn't bother you guys knowing what Bully (Pizzle sticks) sticks really are?

I know I felt glad my dogs didn't eat them...

You know what my Yorkie likes, for big dogs they are a treat, but for many little dogs they are something to chew on, they are simply called Lamb squares made by Merrick. My little Yorkie really likes them!

It's gross. Dogs lick their butts, that's gross too. LOL. Admittedly I don't want kisses after he's chewed on a bully stick but he really likes it and I consider it to be safer for him than rawhide which he can have trouble digesting, and greenies which just aren't very natural.
