Puppies are getting dry skin

The puppies are getting some dry skin in spots. Nothing too bad. You can't see it from the outside, only when I pull up their hair to clean them. Wouldn't be a big deal except it looks like it would itch. I daily wash them with a warm cloth, making sure I go against the grain like the mom would, as well as with the grain. Just wondering if there is anything out there that would remedy this or if I should just wait until they're older to treat it. Also, is there such a product where I could wash them with a shampoo that you don't have to rinse out by imersing them in water? Thanks!

Andrea, check for fleas. If they do have fleas try to gently wash them off with warm water. Do not use any medication or medicated shampoo on them. If you cant get rid of the fleas consult your vet.

If they develop open wounds or sores where the dry patches are, consult your vet.

If none of the above and its just mild dandruff like area's than i wouldnt worry about it until they are a bit older.

Just one other thing it may be, Ringworm, just check, is it a round rash, quite red in color, or just a white flaky kind.

When you wipe them over, use a dry cloth from now on, you are probably washing the oil off their coat, causing the skin to dry, also have you got them under heat, that could be causing it too. Not to mention the forumula feed.
Don't worry too much at this age, just keep an eye out to see if it gets worse, and get back to me on the type of rash so we can rule out ringworm. PS. you can catch ringworm too, it is very contagious, actually a fungus not a worm at all, you would notice it on your hands if you had it, and it is very itchy.

It's not fleas or ringworm. Just dry very small patches of yellowish dry skin here and there. I do have them under a heating lamp, that may be the case, even though I put a bowl of water in with them. I will only use a wet cloth on them form now on if they really need it.

If it's yellowish, sounds a bit like babies cradle cap, mine have had that too. Don't worry too much. It will clear up as they get older.

Yes, that's what it reminds me of although I've never actually seen it. But from reading baby books it sounds the same. So I should just leave it alone for now?

Yes just leave it for now, wait a couple of weeks, it should disappear on it's own. But keep an eye on it inbetween.
