    Itchy Bum?

What causes are there for an itchy bum?

Kirby is constantly scooting around on the carpet, and it's driving me crazy.

He recently had his glands cleared, and he is fully protected against worms.

He has never had any skin problems except for seasonal allergies in his paws.

Could I just have an itchy bum dog?

My Shushu is chewing her tail and bum lately, too. No problems that I can see and has been to vet recently so no gland problems. I thought maybe just winter itchy skin but no dryness that I can see.
New soap or detergent in blankets or beds? New carpet? New treats?
I am asking myself all those questions, too. No new stuff at all.

Kiev doesn't do it often but when she does do it she makes sure to do it with an audience. We could all be playing the xbox and she'll run into the middle of the room like there's no tomorrow and sit herself down and drag her bum across the carpet. It's funny. I dunno though, maybe Kirby's just an itchy bum kinda guy?
What's the point of running when you're already caught in the rain? Saturate with bleak dank bliss; no care in the world... I'm bleak--very bleak. Just happy to be me.

Moo, try running damp paper towel over his bum. See if there is a little poop or something stuck. That might make it itch when it dries.

Same thing is happening with Penny, she scoots typically after going outside and going potty and then when she comes back inside.

So Kirby was at the groomer yesterday, (trim, down to 1 inch again), and glands expressed again... Still scooting around.

I've been presented with the idea that he may just have some funny scar tissue there from his gland surgery before. Sounds probable, what do you guys think?

My old dog did the same thing. Only she would come inside and scoot around and leave a little brown circle on the rug. It was nasty.

not to sound gross, but does he have dingle-berries? If he has a little poo left on his bum that might make him want to itch. I would try cleaning his bum with a babywipe (?) after he is done with his business.

    lol. NO.

And he just got the shave, so there isn't even any hair there to tickle his bum. rofl.
