Question To Breed, or not to breed...

Hi.
Well, i havent gotten my pup yet, but i just feel like being prepared, thats why i'm asking so many questions. anyway, my dad wants to plan on breeding the pup if it's a girl. #1, he's like never home. he's always at work. #2 who would we breed her with? no one in this area has the mix we're getting. #3 i just dont feel prepared *at this point anyway* enough to take on the task of having puppies. what do you think i should do?

Don't breed a cross bred dog. Your dad is only going to try to do it for money, there is no joy in bringing in extra cross bred dogs into the world.

You will not only encounter many problems from trying to breed these small dogs, but you can also get certain deformities depending on the breed crossed with, one I can think of straight away, is if you breed a shitzu with a dog that has a long nose you always end up with overshot jaws. not comfortable for the dog trying to eat and breathe.

Thumbs down

Whether or not it's a girl or a boy,I firmly believe you should get it spayed or neutered.....

When your pup turns 6 months old you should get him or her fixed.....
I would love to breed & raise Pit Bulls & Dogo Argentinoes, but there are already to many unwanted pups in this world.

I know that people want to breed their pets.....Here is a good reason why you don't want to breed........Check out these links & then you can breed your dogs.......

Please be sure to read all of this and try to get your dad to read this also......
I hope that he changes his mind about breeding your precious little pup.......

yeah, i mean, i think it would on one hand be kind of nice to have real small pups around, but like you said, i wouldnt want to breed more crossbreds. *it's a cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Cocker Spaniel.*

Ellierat breeds Labs, but she knows what she's doing.....
She takes good care of her dogs.....
I agree with her about your dad being in it for the money.....
She's right about not cross breeding on purpose.......Please think about what is best for your dog, not for your dad......

If your dad doesn't like it that you might get him or her fixed,he will learn to deal with it.........
