Sid- an idiot from the Navy bought me, the end
lol jkI have always been in love with Siberian Huskies. There are SO many movies on them! Balto, Iron Will, Snow Dogs, White Fang, and the newest one Eight Below. Siberian Huskies are so mystique and mischevious. I always wanted one, especially one with Blue Eyes. My brother called home one day and said his friends wife, who breeds Siberians, said that they had a litter. My brother had told them long ago that the next litter they had he wanted one. So they saved him one. 5 months of age they dropped her off. I still remeber the day. He(the breeders hubby) got out of his Sportie with a tiny dog carrier, inside was a tiny, dainty, puppy. I looked in as he held the carrier and saw mishevious blue eyes staring back. He let her out and she danced around, she was sooooooo tiny! So Cute.... never did I know, she WAS SID! AHHHHH To bad she grew up so darn fast! Cyrus. Cyrus came from our Second Litter out of Sydney and Jocarie. He was different looking than his litter mates, had a more sable appearance. That litter of 10 was the best ever, I knew all the pups, named them all, knew there personality. We kept buddy the runt. Cyrus was the last pup left. My dad's cousin Doug wanted Cyrus, who at the time was named Al'feroz meaning "the fierce one" in spanish. He picked Cyrus up, brought him back a month later... Apparently he "ate" to much. hmmm ok. I remeber when he brought Cyrus back and it was the happiest day of my life! Cyrus was in the back of a white pick-up truck. All was well and from that day on 5 years ago, the two of us were inseperable. You could find me outside 24/7 in the woods and exploring and having adventures all my own with Cyrus. Cyrus means "Sun" in Persian, it is also the Biblical name of the King of Persia, King Cyrus. When Cyrus was 2, Doug and his wife came for a visit. I had put Cyrus in the back yard. We were all on the deck, Doug wanted to see Cyrus. I called Cyrus from the deck and he jumped the 5 foot fence. Doug was astonished, he said "That pup was so clumbsy when I had him." Cyrus also knows all the basic commands, basic tricks and Jumping, Climbing and he can open up a Gate by putting his nose underneath the Handle and pushing up and then leaning on it, to open it. Louise's story:
It was a cold afternoon in January when Thelma and I were running around in the moutains, near Carbondale, CO.. when that darn dog catcher caught us and brought us to Colorado Animal Rescue! After some time there I was schedule for a "spay"? Whatever that was.. it was cancelled cause I had 6 beautiful puppies. CARE was a really nice shelter cause they have a no-kill policy and feed us and shelter us until someone adopts us! Well, after my pups grew up.. then I learned what a spay was. My puppies all got adopted, and I was left by my lonesome. This really nice girl from the college kept coming by and taking me for walks and giving me liver treats, until one day she came to walk me.. and forgot to return me to the shelter! She still keeps me kidnapped in her nice little condo. I don't mind so much though, cause the couch here is nicer than the kennel's concrete. Ollie's story: I don't remember much from when I was little, except I was shipped from Nebraska from my mom and siblings to a little pet shop in a mall. I didn't really like it there, cause all the kids liked to poke at the window and watch me. They gave me too many vaccines, and I was really small and skinny. Then one day, this girl came in and pointed to me (like they all did). Then that one guy came back and took me out to her. When she held me, I knew this was the one. I held on with all my little paws could hold!! Somehow it worked for a couple of hours.. but then she left!! AND THEY GAVE ME A BATH! I was horrified. Then I found out, she wanted to take me home cause I smelled so good, and I was so cute! Phew. That was a relief, I was over the petstore lifestyle. She took me over to some store and got me toys, and a collar, and an ID tag with the name "Oliver" -- I'm not sure why.. cause my name isn't Oliver, it's Ollie. Anyway, then she took me to her house. I was still sort of scared, it was all so new. But then this giant mommy looking thing was there! Oh boy, I loved her! She liked me too. We've become best friends now. And the girl, she's okay too --especially when she saves my life from choking on my really yummy dog food. |

Chances Story
I went to the pound and saw these 3 little puppies and it was VERY cold outside so I decided I wanted to rescue them and fin them homes. They were very shy and sacred and you couldnt even catch them without chasing them around. Chance was the worst one. But I feel in love with him. I thought he was so beautiful and I knew i could help him over comes his problems. Which I did. Now he is in doggyheaven waiting for me. Spots Story When I was about 12 or younger, some person him gave him to my mom.. TinkerBelles Story I got her on my birthday (Feb. 8) from i guess my cousin and just brought her home and she has been with us ever since. Crickets Story I brought her home about 9 years ago. We drove about 50 miles to get her. I picked her out because she was the only black one there.. the rest were red. Havens Story One day my mommy and her boyfriend were out at the pound just looking around and they saw me. I was sitting in the corner but when they came to pet me I got very excited. I heard them tell me they would come back to get me. I hoped it was true. Then a few days later I went to the Vet and got spayed, or thats what they called it. Then mommys boyfriend came and picked me up and I was really happy about it. Then I came to this big house, and I have been here ever since and I'm a really happy girl! Crystals Story
Well my first Mom told me I might be going to live in Ohio after I had my puppies but I wasn't very excited ; I was excited to have my puppies.
When I had puppies last time they were all so sweet like me and this time the little girl was but my little boy was so bad, I kept thinking I hope that lady from Ohio comes soon to take me away from this. Hooray on a cold January day in 1997 she came to take me home with her in an airplane. My first Mom drove us to the Chicago airport and gave me a kiss good by. This was old hat for me since my first Mom took me a plane alot. It was fun and when we got home we had lots of people to greet me and tell me I was cute, but I already knew that My new Mom loves me so much. I was sogood but we went to training and then advanced training and boy I sure was trained and it was fun. I have lots of doggy friends and love my walks more than food....no food comes first but then walks. I just lived happily ever after. After all this time I got an e'mail from my first Mom today..she does that alot. |

Faith’s story -
I don’t know what day I was born or who my mommy and daddy were. But I started out life in the south. I was sent to live in Alabama for my first house (I refuse to call that a home!) with the bad man. He yelled all the time because I didn’t learn as fast as he wanted. I still hate loud noises and shouting. And I’m trying to block out the memories, but I’m pretty sure he hit me too. He brought me to this big building with lots of other dogs already there and told them he didn’t want me anymore. He told them I wasn’t working out as a hunting dog. I guess I should be happy he turned me in there instead of just leaving me somewhere or shooting me. After a few months a couple came to the big building and took me and three other lab and lab mixes home with them in order to keep us from going to sleep. They took us back to their house in Tennessee and we all lived outside in a big wire box. They took pictures of us and told us that we’d be on a website. Does that mean I’m famous? They also took me to a vet to get shots and get spayed. Bleck! Six months after I went to live at their house my foster daddy was talking on the phone with someone and kept pointing at me and looking at me. They told me I was going to go to a “forever home” but I didn’t want to go. I knew what it was like living at that other house. On a Thursday my foster mommy drove me to a rest stop and gave me to two men who were driving a huge trailer. There were a ton of other dogs getting put in the trailer too. It was loud and a bit cramped and I was scared. After 2 days and many stops, we stopped in a place called Connecticut. They took me out of my crate and out of the trailer and gave me to another man. I have the picture of it below. I was very scared and didn’t know these people. ![]() My new daddy walked me over to my new mommy (the one taking all those pictures) and she bent down to give me a hug. I knew a good thing when I saw it and I snuggled right in to her and put my head under her chin. Mommy couldn’t believe how skinny I was! They told her I was a 60lb dog, but I only weighed 43 lbs. when she brought me to the vet the next day. The tested my poopies and found out I had hookworms, which I had to take yucky medicine for. Then I ate some tasty cat poop and got roundworms. Then I got an eye infection. So much medicine for a while! Bleck! But, my heartworm test came back negative, and the other worms have gone away, and my eye feels much better. I’ve been with mommy and daddy for about 8 months now and things couldn’t be better! I’ve gained 14lbs and the vet says that 57 lbs is a very good weight for me. The only problem is mommy insists on trying to get me to be obedient. She’s made me go to classes, and learn new words where she think I actually have to do things and listen to her! Pfft! I try my best to do what she asks, but it’s hard when there are leaves flying by or people getting into their cars or another doggy walking by. And can you believe she thinks people don’t want me to jump on them. Hah! Shows how little she knows. Everyone wants doggy spit on them! But, I love her anyway. I make sure I show her how much by following her from room to room and insisting on sitting in-between her and daddy when we watch TV at night. And, she tells me how much she loves me all the time and gives me treats and hugs and kisses! And my new daddy is just the best! He picks me right up when he sits in the computer chair and holds me like a baby while he’s reading the news. He never hits me like the bad man did, and he plays on the floor with me and loves to play tug of war with me, even though he always wins. And do you know what he does as we play tug of war? He kisses the top of my head when he pulls me over to him so I don’t even feel bad about losing. I love my new home. I want to stay here forever, and mommy and daddy say they’re going to keep me, even if I do keep chewing on their couch cushions. |

Happy's Story:
Happy was my first dog that was MINE, I had wanted my own dog since I was 9 years old, and I kept being told that I had to wait till I was older, so when I was 13, I decided that I was "older" so I started looking for a breed, at first I wanted a Skye Terrier or a CKCS, but as rare breeds they were both costly and hard to find. we went to the shelter to see what there was and I fell in love with a german short harird pointer named Max, I intented to adopt him that day, in fact I had only gone home to get Shadow to see if they got along, but when I got back Max had already been adopted, so we went looking again. my mom found an add for border collie puppys on a bullitain board at a farm store, so my mom went to the website and looked the the pictures, checking out the breeder etc.. all without my knowing, then when I got home from school my mom and dad showed me the puppys and I fell in love with Happy, they told me that my mom was taking me out to the breeders place after dance class, so at the breeder I met the remaining pups and I fell in love with Happy, I sat on the floor and she crawled into my lap and went to sleep, other then Punch, Happy was the only pup that payed any attention to me whatsoever, and after some begging I brought her home. now Happy had many issues, she started as a happy friendly puppy, but then she had her 2nd round of shots, this made her so sick she would not eat or drink, and kept throwing up, I sat with her in the bathroom for hours, I ate in there with her etc.. my mom took her back to the vet and they gave her something to counteract the vaccines, after that she got better again, and was back to her normal self, but she was still getting sick regularly, her coat was flakey and dry, she was gasey, and kept eating her own poop, then she had her rabis shot and suddely she was no so friendly anymore, she went from running up to strangers with a wagging tail to stopping 20 feets and way and started snarling, barking and lunging, it was horrable. when she was 8 months old she had gotten extremly sick again, this time the breeder suggested we give her chicken broth and overcooked white rice, this led to our switch to the BARF diet, suddenly her coat was pur black, flakes were gone, no more gas, no more eating poo and she has not gotten seriously ill since. now all we had to work on was her aggression issues, we started systematic desensitization, when she was 3 years old she finally got over her fear of people and children, she now thinks they are the greatest creaturs on earth. however she was still having dog issues, we could not get her anywhere near the feed store, or she would start into attack mode, flyball trainign was going nowhere because she kepts crossing over, not to mention she was insanly slow and could not catch the ball. we decided to take her to a private clicker trainer. within 2 weeks she was sleeping inside the feed store, but the trainer advised us to stop flyball. so no more flyball, but one day I took her to the building just for fun, and that is when she turned on, she understood the sport, she has no crossed over, dropped the ball or gone slow since. she just turnes her dog aggression into speed, she went from running 6 seconds to running 3 seconds she started playing basketball and soccer with the naighborhood kids, she would come to the water park with me and my friends and we would each stand on a post and play catch with a football..Happy included. the list goes on..she is just an absolute joy..now anyway lol up until she was 3 years old, life with her was not fun at all!

My name is Kirby. My family wanted a dog. My mommy's mommy had always wanted a golden retriever, like the one she had when she was little, but the house that they were living in at the time just didn't have the space. So they went on a quest to find that perfect breed.
One day, my mommy's daddy was looking at a list of dogs, and he came across my breed, and laughed. "Coton!" he said, "That's funny, they look like cotton balls too!" But lo and behold, they found themselves looking for a Coton de Tulear. There are two major reputable breeders in Canada. Mine, Joamrans, and the Cotonerrie, in Quebec. Jomarans was closer to home. Months of questions and months of waiting later, I found myself home - on June 6th, 2003. |
