I would take him to the vet asap if they catch it early there might not be a need for surgery. If you wait you could lose him

Some dogs just eat too fast, gulp too much air and/or water. Personally, I wouldn't panic unless he is in noticable discomfort, or there are some other symptons to signify illness/bloat. My Kirby's tummy feels hard sometimes when he is just feeling under the weather.

yes but this is just the begining if you wait an it is bloat the stomace will turn and cut off blood flow to the intestines(sp) If you bring him in NOW they should be able to relieve the gas with out surgery and save you tons of money and your dogs life

He's a puppy? Then I doubt it's bloat. I would walk him on a leash around a bit to "get things moving". That puppy belly might be a sign he has worms.

Has he been checked by your vet yet? I always think that's the best thing when you get a new puppy.

Make sure he has regular meals (about 3 to 4 a day) and regular poops.
