I have a yellow lab mix and he is 9 months old. His nose on the side has started to scab and it is very now very pink. Is this something I should be concerned with?

Do you know if he's injured himself? Perhaps some rough play? If yes, then I would not be concerned about it. I would apply some polysporin and watch for signs of infection.
If it seems to be a growth or lesion, I would go to the vet to have it checked. Catching things like that early can be all the difference. It is likely nothing, but better safe than sorry. |

We do have another dog, a finnish spitz mix but she is much smaller and they dont play too rough. It does look sore from a human side, but he doesnt seem to be bothered by it at all. I will take your advice though. It is actually not a scab per say, more like some of the black off just the side of his nose is peeling. I am not too familiar with the polysporin, is that similar to neosporin? Thank you again for your help
