Question Scab on side of nose?

I have a yellow lab mix and he is 9 months old. His nose on the side has started to scab and it is very now very pink. Is this something I should be concerned with?

Do you know if he's injured himself? Perhaps some rough play? If yes, then I would not be concerned about it. I would apply some polysporin and watch for signs of infection.

If it seems to be a growth or lesion, I would go to the vet to have it checked. Catching things like that early can be all the difference. It is likely nothing, but better safe than sorry.

We do have another dog, a finnish spitz mix but she is much smaller and they dont play too rough. It does look sore from a human side, but he doesnt seem to be bothered by it at all. I will take your advice though. It is actually not a scab per say, more like some of the black off just the side of his nose is peeling. I am not too familiar with the polysporin, is that similar to neosporin? Thank you again for your help
