Poor Kinya
Kinya's in season (getting her spayed as soon as we can... after she's done of course!) and was being a good girl with her diaper until recently... she start to whine a bit when we let her out of her crate. We weren't sure why until yesterday.
The diaper we were using has elastic and the elastic was apparently cutting into her "flaps" she has in front of her rear legs. Poor thing. I feel like such a bad mommy. So now she has an open wound, a new diaper, and an eliz. collar on as she won't leave it alone. She's really freaked out about the collar and WILL NOT move. She won't sit or lay down and will only walk if I'm leading her by the collar. Right now she's standing behind me panting... she won't even turn her head to the side. What can I do to help her relax? Here are a couple shots of her wound. |

If you're going to be with her can you take the collar off?
I'm not sure of this--is there a reason to wait until her heat is over before spaying? |

Jenna was abused before we got her and she has that same reaction. We took the collar off.
You will want to spray some bitter apple on your finger and just put it around the area, not on the sore but just around it to stop her from licking. I would take the collar off, it may do irreversable mental damage to her. |
