Help me purchase puppy food

We have no real good pet stores around here so I'm not goin to be abel to find brands that are not real well known. I'm going to throw out a few brands that I think they carry around ehre and you tell me what you think.

Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy Food

Iams Large Breed Puppy Food

Science Diet Canine Growth

I'm having trouble finding the ingredients for the above mentioned foods.

Hmm, now I just found this article on large breed dog food:

http://www.greatdanelady.com/article...puppy_food.htm

Very interesting.

I feed my dogs IAMS Large Breed and they are very healthy and happy. It was recommended by my vet, even thought they sell Science Diet in their office?
I have had good luck with it, but the article you posted gives you some goof guidelines when choosing a commercial diet.

Iams or eukanuba is good stuff. Either will be fine.
Science diet generally should be steared clear of unless you have a dog with a specific problem like kidney disease and need a specially formulated diet.

Unhappy

I've used Puppy Chow with some of my dogs......They seemed to do good with it.....

I've tried Iams & they ended up vomiting everywhere the first time they ate it.They wouldn't ever eat Iams after that....

I've heard good things about Eukanuba.....

It all depends on the owner & what the dog(puppy) likes.....

Sorry I wish I could have been of more help.

I use Blue buffalo puppy protection formula. They have many brands for all ages, I fine that it does wonderful for my 5 month old German shepherd. She is starting to gain. She used to be to skinny. She did awful on Hills I/D prescription diet. she vomit all the time and loss to much weight.
