Shitzu Grooming

I am a proffesional Dog Groomer, who has not been grooming for over, 15 years.. But recently got a client.. She wants me to groom her Shitzu..
Now this dog I had groomed in the past as a puppy but he is now 3-yrs old., And he has not been groomed by anyone since..
And he was a handfull when he was a puppy.. He has to be muzzled to groom his face, and to clip his nails..
What I am looking for is a Chart that shows the blade sizes, and the comb sizes to use to achieve the correct Shitzu Hair Cut..
My Shitzu is shaved down with a #10 blade all over because he is always so hot.. I will be grooming this dog on FEB 23 2006.
Can anyone Help me????
Thanks Dawn

ShiH-tzu... and most groomers understand that dogs really need their coats to help regulate body tempeture...

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question.

It depends on what the owner prefers
Maybe you can talk her into a nice buzz cut!
I have my girl 'bushy' beause we are in the middle of winter.
In warmer months she also seems HOT, all of mine are.
I like them clean cut.
My Giant Schnoodle X Standard Poodle is in a Schnauzie cut and it really does him justice! (I keep his ears fluffy tho)

I groom a lot of Shih tzus. Most owners prefer the clip down, but not bald as with the #10 blade, that is a very close clip. I mostly use a #5 or #4, which leaves the coat from 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch long. I comb out the ears and length depends on owner preference, rarely shave the ear unless so matted that there is no choice. I always leave a fluffy tail. Hope this helped.

we tend to do the same sorta trim for the lhasa as well but it is always the owners choice

to start with the shortes blade we take a cost off with is a 7f as we personaly think the 10 makes them look skinned

if we do take the dogs body off with say a 5 then we take the head off with a 7f to give a cleaner look

but if they have the head trimmed we either trim the top and sides down and then shorten the hair around the eyes and muzzle to keep then clean but if u box the face by goin down on it with a 7 kjust lightly then over the cheeks a #nd time the hair away from the eyes and then shape the head to put the shape in and trim the ears to the corect height
