Concerning Glucosamine

I've noticed a lot of people mentionin Glucosamine as a supplement that they are giving to their dogs. Well my older dog, Pebbles, also gets it. But the human form of Glucosamine that you can buy in bulk at Sams Club for instance, is MUCH cheaper than the pet form of Glucosamine. It works just the same and is cheaper and comes in larger quantities. Just thought I'd mention that. My vet said buying the human form is just fine. Pebbles does much better when she's on the supplement, too. Just a little heads up for everybody

Yep, my vet recommends that too for all dogs from the age of about 4-5 years. They only give "dog" supplements in extreme cases but for most things recommend the plain old human form (like evening primrose oil for skin and fur).

Yes, that works just give enough to equal the dogs amount in their bottle. I should be taking it too but I hate to upset my stomach more so. Good idea to save money, that is why I used pumpkin for loose stools, honey for a good cleanser and tonic for dogs, etc.

I also use pumpkin. Tank likes it from the can and the actual pumpkin seeds lol. He won't leave me alone if I'm eating pumpkin or sunflower seeds.

thanks for the info, but do you know what the diference is between the two?

I'm not sure what the difference is, if there is one. My doc said it's the same thing. Just make sure you give the proper dose.

Thanks I might try to look forther into it, i wonder how the vet knows its the same, I would ask for proof

I have been using it for my knee and sore hip. It has worked wonders and the pain is gone.

No need to ask for proof, it's the same medicine just with different names. Pebbles does MUCH better with Glucosamine and she takes the human kind. Many pet and human drugs are the same

Thanks, I guess thats just me I like to get the two and compare lol
