Eating Habits

Finally figured out how to get my dog to eat. It isn't the brand of food or if it dry or canned. He has to see me eat it first. I had to pretend to eat a dog treat, I had to pretend to lick gravy and beef chunk from a bowl, and I have to pretend to eat his kibble. Then he goes outside and hunts mice and bugs.

Personally, I think that is really a bad idea. He is winning now. Yes, you should be eating first, the alpha eats first. He should always be aware that you eat your meals before him. But he should not think that he is eating the same thing that you are eating, then he thinks that he gets the majority of the human's food.

Moo I think it was a joke. I could be wrong, but I really think it is.

I don't think it was a joke and I totally agree with Moo. If it is a joke, then good grief, what have we come to? **sigh**

Wow IcyMist you are the only one that got it. Thanks. Oh and Moo my dog is shedding very badly and itn't allowed in the main part of the house. He has his own room with his bed, toys, and food! Sometimes you can jump to conclusions.

That is how I get mine to eat their wafer supplements and Garlic tabs, I pretend I am eating one first then had it to one of my dogs and then they eat it. Could be the real thing, as I do, but not really eat it, just make them think I am

Well gee, I'm sorry for believing what was written, and trusting what someone told me. I did not say anything at all about where he sleeps, or how much he sheds. I was talking strictly about pretending to eat the dog's food. It made sense to me that since this thread was foreshadowed by previous threads of having a picky puppy, and I didn't see any reason to not take your seriously. I'm honestly offended that I tried to help, based on exactly what information I was given, and now you are off on tanget, trying to condemn me.

What exactly, pray tell, was the purpose of this thread then?

Yea if its a joke, really what IS the purpose? Seriously, I beleived you were serious....
It seems you just got embaressed and tried to cover it up. But dont be embaress, if thats what makes him eat then that makes him eat...Moo was only offering the Cons of what you were doing, No need to make her look dumb.

This is silly, I think that Sarge was just making light of a problem and is now getting jumped on for joking around, which is something that I have done in the past too.

I dont think they were joking.
Why?
Because from time to time everyone does this to get there dog to eat, even I have. It doesnt seem to be something to make light of.
No one is jumping on Sarge for 'doing this' like I said I have to!! lol Its just that they Said Moo jumped to conclusions as always, when in fact they didnt give her any reason to Believe this was a Joke.
