Question Puppy Proof

My lil' guy loves this Nylabone that is flavored like bacon. He destroyed it! I only gave him one and he polished off in 3 sittings the bone was big too! I havn't got him another because I don't know if it is too much for him. I thought it would last longer, but he loved it.

Do you think is ok to go for round two or wait til' he's a little bit bigger....I checked and I didn't see a puppy version.

How old is your pup? I give Tank those nyla bones usually weekly (I'm paranoid about them causing problems) and he's 8 months now. I've been giving them to him since he was prolly 5 or 6 months old. He needed something to keep him busy. Also I got him a nylabone that they can't really destroy (it's like plastic) and he loves chewing on that! I've never had problems with Tank chewing up anything except for 2 drumsticks lol. Just make sure to read the info on the box and give them to your pup weekly or so That's my suggestion.

He is almost 4m old, he has the hard plastic ones that he can't chew-up. This one is a "edible" nylabone and he LOVES it! The box didn't say don't give for puppies but it also didn't say puppy proof....

I don't like Nylabones, for starters my dogs do not like them and next, they are made of plastic, do you really want your dog eating plastic ????

Stick to real raw meaty bones, soup type bones that are large and hard. Knuckle bones or fermor leg bones. Much healthier and they keep your dog's teeth clean AND they last forever

I don't remember seeing raw meaty bones or soup type bones. I have a Petsmart, Petco, and Care-A-Lot Pet Supply near my house...but I never know which would be ok for Tank who is a Chihuahua. Can you show me what they look like so I can get an idea?

Tank doesn't eat the plastic nylabones, just the edible velveteen bones (or whatever they're called). He just chews on the nylabone, can't eat it cuz his little mouth isn't strong enough. Plus I keep an eye on it to make sure there aren't any loose pieces or anything.

Bailey only gets the edible ones too. She goes through them in about 5 minutes, so she only gets one every couple of months.
