Grooming a Maltipoo

I find that my Maltipoo get knots and mats very easy. How can I prevent this and what should I use to get it out?

Make sure you comb, (doubletooth is best) and brush thoroughly before bathing, water tightens any matts. Use a good DOG shampoo and conditioner. If the matts have gotten too tight or close to the skin, then they will have to be cut out. If you are not experienced at that, a groomer should be seen.

the only way to really prevent mats and knots is to comb thouroughly EVERY day!! getting the coat trimmed shorter will help (less to brush) and you can get anti tangle sprays that may help but keeping on top of the brushing is the best thing!
