what kind of conditioner you use for your collies or shelties? since shelties basically have the same coat texture as a collie, im just curious what you use. All i am using for casey is oatmeal shampoo, but i want to soften up his coat and make it luxirous, he's gets fly aways sometimes if i don't use conditioners.. If you use special conditioner can you let me know what it is?...

Hydra Pearls is a good product.

I also feed AvoDerm (which is a coat/skin specific diet) and give DermCaps daily for soft, full, thick coat.

AvoDerm also has a conditioner type product for grooming as well.

I stared using a soap and detergent free shampoo. I didn't buy from ProDog, but this is a grooming supply company, lol. I shampoo and then condition. I leave the conditioner on for longer than it says too. I also feed a fish based food so the oils are good for the coat.

I use snow white shampoo,it is all natural,no harsh chimicals, and then I use mane and tail conditioner, and rinse good.

My company makes a product called Lite-N-Easy. After I shampoo I put that on and let it sit for a few minutes. Then rinse. She turns out nice and fluffy.

ok I used to be a sheltie owner. sniff sniff anyways I have been experimenting on my English Setter and her coat because of show. well here we go.

The stuff- leaves floor slippery, becareful. I like it for the most part though. It is ok, no big complaints.

Ice on Ice (Chris Christiansen product)- I like this for a before we go in the ring brush down spray as it is not a heavy conditioner. It doesn't weigh down the coat. I think my favorite so far. This would be my suggestion.

Summer wind- Ok deluted, really ment to oil down the coat to protect it though. not real great for the house pet. leaves a residue that gets on your hands, not real fun to pet.

Main and Tail- I have found this wieghs down the coat tooooo much and makes it tooooo soft.

uuuummmm hmm let me go see what this last one was.....................

Miracle coatleave in conditioner and lusterizer spray- this has tea tree oil in it and I have found a liking to a lotion with it in it, that is why I relly wanted to try this. I have used it a little bit. It leaves a definate strong scent, wasn't a really bad one but interesting. I think it has helped to repair the damage to her coat a little bit. Wouldn't use right before showing, mostly because of the scent. It also makes the coat separate a bit on my girls long coat.

I actually just got the new test today in the mail!!!!! I am very excited about this one. I have heard very good things about this stuff from my friend with the Irish Setters and now also from English Setter people too!

Traleigh products- I just got my first thing of conditioner called Ultra Phix to try and help repair and protect my show girls coat. I am really excited about this one!
