GSD 6 months poorly

Hi, wondered if anyone could give some advice please:
My GSD is 6 months old and is suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting (otherwise she is fine, bit tired but still ready to play), we were going to starve her for 24 hrs but i was thinking that although this is the normal thing to do for humans, is it the same for dogs??? dont want to stop her eating if it makes little difference considering a dogs constitution is very different to ours, my other dog : 6 month golden retriever is perfectly fine.

help appreciated - many thanks

It is the same for dogs to without food but with a young dog I would only go 12-18 hours.

Then you should give boiled rice & eggs for a few days until everything is back to normal.

My vet recommends starving for 24 hours and then another 24 hours with reduced meals of chicken and rice. So if you feed 3 times a day, reduce that to twice a day, if you feed twice a day reduce the two meals to one. But whatever you do you MUST make sure your puppy drinks. If he doesn't get enough fluid he can dehydrate very quickly.
