bump on snout
my dog is a 4 y/o shepherd mix and has developed a small pea - sized "bump" on his snout, about an inch up from the end of his nose. It seems to be getting larger. anyone ever heard of this?

Jasmine had a small, skin-colored bump just above her nose. I took her into the vet when I first saw it, and the vet was unsure of what it was, thought it might be a wart. A few months later is was getting bigger, so I took her in to have it removed (for cosmetic reasons). After removal they biopsied it and it turned out to be a malignant mast cell tumor.
So, I would take your dog to the vet. If he doesn't know what it is, insist on a biopsy. Paws crossed here that it's nothing!

We adopted a kitten from the shelter last year that had ring worm (didn't break out until after a week of having him.) My Doxie got it on his nose, but it turned out to be a big bump. Here is a pic.
