Paraquat Toxicity Killed 8+ (in Colorado)

In the Eastern Plains of Colorado, some farmer spread Paraquat on meat and put it throughout land to kill coyotes and protect his cattle. Well, sure enough dogs came in contact with the paraquat and it's fatal.

I got to see 2 dogs first hand at Alameda East. They came in early last week, we gave them supportive care and antioxidants (etc etc) and just last Saturday we had to euthanize them. The toxin attacks the respiratory system and these two dogs were just in ICU panting and panting. It was so heartbreaking. They were both labs, one was 6 the other 1 and half!! I would be so devastated if my dogs died due to some idiot like this.

That's aweful!!! If that happened to one of my dogs due to some idiot like this, I'd probably wind up in jail on murder charges!

Apparently this guy is being investigated by the police for animal cruelty charges. Paraquat is so toxic and fatal to both humans and animals, and they think that even in Coyotes it's cruel.

I hope he gets at least something.. besides a slap on the wrist.
