Finally doing it

Okay my mother gave me the okay to write up an add for Nicholas. We are going to sell him instead of give him to a rescue because we are hoping to stay in touch with the new owners.

The rats attacked Dalton again the other day and Nick went crazy(thankfully nick was trapped in the kitchen) when my mother picked Dalton up and walked through the kitchen Nick tried to bite him and bit my mother instead so she said that was it he has to go(we had already decided to find him a new home but my mother has been putting it off) We all love him very much but his aggression towards Dalton is just not allowed. He has hurt poor Dalton too many times(drawing blood every time he attacks him)

My mom is letting me write the add because I nag on her day and night about letting me question the possible owners. So what questions should I ask?

Also if anyone knows anyone in Alabama looking for a dachshund here is just a short description of him

Nicholas is a dapple miniature dachshund. He is 3 years old. Neutered, and has two blue eyes. Is a doll toward people but has to be supervised around dogs, best around females. Is fine around cats but supervision is always better he has never hurt ours but he doesnt know how bulky and heavy he can be.
He loves toy play with toys and enjoys belly rubs. He is the best snuggle buddy you can find. New owners must be willing to hold him on his back like a baby constantly!
No aggression towards people what so ever, no food aggression, toy aggression or bone aggression. He is just a dominate male but doesnt show any aggression in normal situations.
He was bred once and has a daughter and a son. He is a wonderful little dog.

thanks in advance for those who can help!

the two pictures right before last are of his son Jason and the last picture is of his daughter Sally. We still see Jason who is almost two years old and we havent seen Sally sine we found her a home when she was 7 months old(had problems at birth so we kept her for a while to make sure she would grow up fine)

I hope you find him a good home. Does he just have agression problems with one dog or other dogs in general?

I would ask how much time can be devoted to the dog.

i would also do a home check without them expecting it before after the adoption and have an adoption contrat with a clause on the requirements with which you expect the dog to be maintained with.

thanks you two.

I would have to say to make it simple, he shouldnt go to a home with submissive dogs. He will attack a submissive dog no matter what the size but he is fine with a dominant dog because he himself is very submissive. When ever he is around the other dogs he immediately goes up and starts licking the corners of their mouths and flips over on his back.
Dalton and Josefina are our only submissive dogs. He will attack both of them

Is dalton neutered? two males will never get along in the same house. well very rarely, especially with a female around. Dachs can have temperament problems also. If you really want to keep him, have you tried keeping him muzzled to show him that he can play nice with the other dogs. Works wonders sometimes, and after he settles down you can remove the muzzle, but it might take a few mos. The minute he shows aggression on goes the muzzle.
If you definitely rehome him, make the contract that if the owners change their mind you are to be notified, before they dispose of him, as you would probably want to be the one who rehomes him, otherwise you have no way of knowing his future fate. Good luck.

yes of course both males are neutered. Now in my opinion that is not a fact. We have 4 males in total at this house and they all get along great except Nick he is the only problem the other three are perfectly fine. When ever we had males we never had problems because males are more mellow, we always had problems with our females though.

Nick was fine with dalton the first year we had both of them, its just one day for some reason he started attacking him and since dalton wont fight back Nick knows he can continue to do it. The thing is when Nick attacks him Kaylee and Sammy usually join in along with Angel(Angel and Nick are the only two that WILL hurt a dog) Kaylee and Sammy just look like they are hurting him but they never do. Angel hurt his leg last time but Nick has put a hole in his back, leg, chest, and under his leg. Along with tons of cuts. He also popped a blood vessel in Daltons eye before.
This is something that we cannot correct, it is just to serious to try and do anything.

Yes we will make sure that they return him to us if they cannot keep him.

You are very right though, some dachshund have temperament problems. I have seen my fair share of evil ones! lol Though I have to say Princess is the sweetest thing you will ever find(unless you are cutting her toenails!!)
