I have a Australian Blue Heeler which had pups 4 months ago. Unknown to me she had come back into heat. I saw her in her cylce bleeding so I kept her out of the pen with the St. Benards. I let my dogs in on cold nights all 5. My big stud (St. Bernard) caught my little Blue heeler and stuck during the night on one of those cold nights. Of coarse I tried everything to get them apart but it was too late. I don't want to loose my dog what am I to do can anyone help me this happened about 2 weeks ago.

Call your vet and make an appointment. You can't really ask them what to do about aborting (bcz they can't tell you the ethical thing to do), but he'll hint around probably. IMO I think you should get her spayed, which aborts the pups in the process.

I don't think the ethical concerns should even be brought up under these circumstances, it's the health of the mother, she is in pup to a really big dog, who will have really big heads and shoulders, and spaying? why?, he may want to breed to another heeler at some stage.
After all, if you want to get technical and state a case similar to us humans' abortions, what about euthenasia!!!
