I use "Sea Breeze" in my labs ears, and around the outside. It has an alchol base, that way it will evaporate in the ear if you dont like get it out with a cotton ball or something.

my vet gave me a bottle of Hexirinse. I squirt a little into his ear, wait about 30 seconds and gently clean out the ear using several q-tips (if needed). Then I fill the ear with Hexirinse and massage it into his ear.

It's a great cleansing agent, not harsh at all and helps keeps the proper ph.

I use Oti Calm, it's a cleansing solution for the ears of dogs and cats. Alcohol free with odor control. A few drops in each ear and massage it in.

Actually that's the point. They shake out some of the deeper debris. Mine shake their heads for about 3 minutes.

When Kirby was younger, his ears got smelly easily. The groomer keeping the fur short in there has been helpful.

I used to keep Kirby's ears clean with a Cider Vinegar solution.

Not that anyone has mentioned this, but I wanted to just make sure that everyone knows to NEVER use hydrogen peroxide in their dogs ears. I know it was the "old school" way of cleaning ears, but it causes more problems that you started out with.
