Stans hair loss :(

My Staffordshire doesn't usually lose alot of hair except for when i get the comb out every now and then. But, after i bathe him he looses it when you touch him. My parents and brother say this is normal but because they are short hair dogs i'm scared of him getting small bald patches after bathing him which i have to do alot, because he stinks XD

How much do you bathe him? What type of shampoo do you bathe him with? What kind of food is he fed? It sounds like he does not have healthy skin. Food, amount of baths, and the type of shampoo can all effect the skin and make shedding worse.

He's up to date on all his flea and worm treatments we bathe him about 2 or 3 times a month we took him to the vet yesterday because on the side of his cheek his fur had infact exposed his skin and it was all dry and bloody (eeww) he gave us this special cream (it smells like poo T_T) that seems to be helping it a bit but apparently he has this skin condition..So we have to bathe him less? Maybe only once a month or something? We only give him baths because he jumps in smelly rivers from quite high places because he's stupid like that

It seems like you might bathe him too much. I would keep it at about once every 4 to 6 weeks. Keep us updated though.

Yes you bathe too much. Try an oatmeal spray inbetween bathings to moisturize his coat and refresh his scent.

i would not bathe your dog to often because you can dry out his skin and cause skin problems. as for the hair loss, the hair that is coming off is dead hair. unless you see bald spots don't worry
