    Question Shedding Puppy

My 5 month old puppy is shedding extremely. I notice the hair is getting longer, so I assume it is because he is growing a new adult coat. Does this sound right or even normal?

Yea it sounds normal. Have you tried brusing it out with a dog comb? That helps. Erin

That's exactly what it is. Just make sure you keep brushing out the dead hair to keep it unmatted and clean.

i actually use the shedding blade i bought for my horse to take care of my dog's shedding. use that once or twice a week and it pretty well takes care of it. plus, she loves it scratching her belly. she'll roll around for us to make sure we dont miss any spots.

Small shedding blades are made for dogs. Great for shorthaired shedders.
