Soy milk for puppy

I will be picking up my puppy next week - miniature dachshund. The breeder gives the pups a little soy milk and they love it. I don't if she does that to wean them but I was wondering if its OK to continue giving it to her. Any comments?
I understand that being overweight is especially bad for doxies so I want to be sure to start of right with exercise and just the right amount of food.

Thanks for any input.

I've never given my dog soy products, but he loves milk, yoghourt, cheese, and cottage cheese. My breeder had originally suggested feeding him kibble mixed with yoghourt.

As a little treat every so often i dont see any harm. I wouldnt give it too often though. An egg-cup-full a couple of times a week will make sure it stays as a treat! Soy milk is quite low fat so it shouldnt be too harmful weight-wise.
Dont worry if a very young puppy is a little tubby-looking, puppies are meant to have a bit more fat coverage than adults, i'm sure you will be able to judge just fine if weight is excessive. By six months a dachshund should be at its adult body condition which should be a point less on the body condition score table than will be ideal when you pick up an 8 week old puppy. I usually go by around 4-5 being ideal for adults and about 5 1/2 - 6 for puppies under 16 weeks, gradually reducing the BCS from 16 weeks onwards. A dachshund i would like to see around a 4 1/2 at an adult age.

we had a whippet once we'd feed goat's milk too. his problem was gaining weight tough, not keeping it off. he'd had a rough life before we got him, we ended up having to have him put down because we (and the vet) couldnt get him to eat anything.
