Hi,
My mother has a 7 year old beagle that is her big baby. He is overweight but will still chase a rabbit but the rabbit always wins. For several months now he has had extremely swollen feet and paws and has ear trouble. There has been 2 vets look at him, one said he didn't know what was causing it or what it was and the other said it was a fungus of somekind and put him on Baytril 136mg. He didn't know what was causing the fungus either. The vets seem to be stumped. The medicine seems to help a little but its real expensive. Does anyone else have this problem with their pooch? And is there a natural herb or a better working medicine that might help? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Marsye

Is there a lot of black gunk in the ear, if there is, he has ear mites, not sure though what is causing swollen feet, you said he is over weight, it might help if he was put on a diet. The vet can give you something for the ear mites.

Thanks for the reply. No black gunk present and he's been tested for ear mites. He does need Slim Fast tho. :-)
