my dog is dying

Hi I'm new ok I need some insight.. I have a 5 year old beagal named tippy. For the past three days she hasn't been her self, it has been 30C here so we though she was just lethargic from the heat. Anyways today she seemed worse and when we went to make sure she was ok she was laying there like she was dead, she snapped at my mom when she touched her (not like her at all) herr nose was hot and dry and she was not herself. So i grabbed my 50lb dog and ran for my car to take her to the vet. they didn't have an opening for an appointment so i just left her to them. they called later and said we need to run blood work, no problem do it. so they called back 1/2 hr later and said 50/50 if she lives. i don't know what she has but her blood count is really low so they are starting her on iv's and antbiotics to try and help her, and if that dosn't work they can do a blood transfusion but it is slim that it would help. So if anyone has any idea on what it could be please let me know. I'm so worried

Is she spayed? My first thought is pyometra...but you'll have to wait until bloodwork determines her white cell count.

Any previous symptoms? Vomiting? Diarrhea?

Good luck, I hope she pulls through.

yes she is spayed, the vets have done all the blood work but he would not call me back so i guess i will call in the morning and find out what it is.

but what is this pyometra, and vomiting or diarrhea we live on farm and she goes away to go the bathroom.

Why didn't the vet say what it was ?

There are so many things that it could be, only your vet will know for sure but if I was you I would be pushing for a answer.

Good luck.

That's strange your vet didn't tell you! I agree you should definitely ask.
I'll keep your dog in my thoughts, I hope she's ok!

Well she is amemic that is as much as I know right now. I missed the call from my vet and he is in surgery now, he will call as soon as he is out. There was no change overnight for worse or better. She got up to go potty and for a walk. I don't know what is causing the anemia but when I know i will post the results

thanks for your concern everyone
