Lightbulb He SQUEALS!!!

Dakota seems to be very sensitive and always has been pretty much! When he was a pup if I was to raise my voice he would run to his dog house and not come out!!

This afternoon before my meeting I was spending time with him, eating Chetoo's, he kept stealing them no he never gets them but today he did.

Well I was trying to get him to lay down, he was in sit position. I move his paws out, then put pressure on his shoulders (Very Medium) He Squeals!!

Later I grabbed his upper body to move him closer and he goes "I-I-I" I hardly touched him.

I think he thought Cyrus had come up behind him and Snatched him. He didnt see my arm go up around him.

Cyrus is a 5 y/o shepherd, he's the leader and once in awhile Dakota gets reprimended by him but they get along swell.

Also when I rub him, if I rub or pinch to hard while playing he will also scream.

Is it possible he's bruised? Sounds like he's taking precautionary measures to make sure you know he's submissive.

If he's always been like this, he's growing up to be a very shy dog, not a good situation, get him out and independent. But yes, he could be squealing because he wants to make sure he's submissive.....again not real good, he's a nervous shy dog. You seem to move him by sliding his back or legs. Has he been x-rayd for a back problem or a hip problem? Maybe you should look into this, if it's caused by pain, get him treated and he'll become less squealy. If it's behavioral, he needs extensive training and reconditioning.

I hope its not a back problem, he seems to have a nice back.

I think its because he is really really submissive and he can be shy. Was as a pup, I raise my voice, he would run. He loves being near me but can get really shy. I dont know how to make him independent at this stage in life, it may just make it worst exposing him to new situations that can be scary for him.

personally i think its elbow dysplaysia you need to test for with the others of course its not good to be such a natually shy dog if thats the case either.

hmmmm, are you sure? He moves around just fine and dandy, runs and plays. Are there some signs I can watch for to make sure? I really dont have the money to pay for that right now, I just got ripped off of $250.00 today, not to happy about that.

I will get him all checked, in every aspect of Elbow and Hips but cant afford to right now.

I personally think he is just a big baby... when Im rubbing him, I will sometimes rub to hard and kinda pinch him and he will scream!!!
