Urinary tract infection in puppy?

Hi everyone,
I'm a bit concerned about Chloe. The tip of her pee is red since this morning. Is this an infection or something we should watch out for?

Points to note:
She is not crying while peeing
There have been no changes in her drinking/peeing habits-she has water access during all waking hours
She does lick herself clean after she pees
To refresh everyone's memory - she is now a 10 week old girl.

Do I need to call a vet?

Please, Please let me know what we should do - I'm a bit paranoid.

lotzoflove is on a distinguished road
umm you might want to watch her for about a week and if she starts to worsen (ex. crying while peeing etc.) then you might want to majorly consider the vets office.

Is this a change in color from pink to dark red - Then yes if it doesn't clear up could be a sign of a problem. Vets are closed til tuesday so take a wet washcloth and antibacterial soap - wipe the area then rinse really well. Do a couple of times a day.

Her salvia could even be the irritant. Keep an eye on it - if fever develops or any pus- go to the Emergecy vet centre near you.

Hopefully it's just a change in pee PH or something that will resolve itself.

I wouldn't panic - puppies can get into all kinds of things while playing, including scraping themselves. For now, I would probably closely monitor her behavior. Does she keep licking? Does the redness get worse? Does she seem uncomfortable? It might simply pass but if not, you can always run to the vets.

Thanks for the quick reply. Its a deep pink kind of in the crack -much deeper than what it used to be. We noticed it only becuase she gives us her tummy for a belly rub.
I have an antiseptic like Savlon antiseptic solution and some handwash antibacterial soap. I dont want anything to sting her-would the solution be better? and should i go close to the crack? Shes sleeping comfortably -nose is moist - hopefully your'e right on the PH change Dax.

The hand wash diluted with quite a bit of water. The point is to wash off some of the bacteria not disinfect her. Wash the entire area. You could give a little bath where you wash the undercarriage.

It doesn't sound serious - her tongue is slightly rough and that could be bringing more blood to the surface when you looked. Constant licking would be a another sign that it's bothering her.

I know this may sound a bit grose, but can you smell the area at all, is it strong.
Is she drinking excessively? How many pees is she having?

The actual urine output has a strong smell. Its sometimes light and sometimes deep yellow. The area itself doesnt have a smell. She pees a lot at one go (Takes up a lot of cleaning if shes had an accident). If she's crated she can hold - longest she's been crated during the day is 3 odd hours. She sleeps through most of the night - so I'd say she needs to go about 7-8 times in all.

Sounds like an infection, try and get a sample in a sterile jar, keep it in the fridge, up to 24 hours, you will need it for the vets.
Won't be an emergency, but worthwhile to get an appointment when your vets open.

Ariel's got reddish too but didn't turn out to be anything. Ellie's got a point that if it hasn't gotten any better by tuesday a routine trip to vet's would be a good thing.
