Why would someone surrender a baby.......I also feel sorry for her, go for it, she really needs a home, doesn't look like she's had a good beginning.

I think before you consider adopting/fostering her you need to have a serious talk with all your parents after what happened with Haven. You wouldn't want her to be sent away again. But if everyone agrees to it, then I think it would be a good idea to foster her! See how it goes!

Yeah my grandma said she would try it and we are going to sit and have a talk with my gpa but around here its pretty much whatever my gma says goes. i just want to help tho the shelter here is a terrible place. i bet the hotness and mosquitoes are killing her and all the rest out there!

If you're not able to foster/adopt, you could always give some $$ towards the adoption costs. I know at my shelter people did this who could not have a dog because of allergies, or companies would do this out of PR. If the shelter is close enough, you could always even volunteer as a dog walker. There are many ways to help if it ends up you cannot foster.

One thing to remind your grandma of when making this decision is that you will be at least the 3rd home this dog has had (not including the stay at the breeders). Home 1: the initial adoption Home 2: the shelter Home 3: possilby yours. Make sure they are willing to give this pup serious chance.

Good luck - I hope all turns out well

Oh, one more thing - puppies get adopted really quickly in most shelters. EVERYBODY wants a puppy, so Oreo may get adopted really really quickly and may not need a foster home. At my shelter, I worked 5-7 and when I got in, there were NO puppies out for adoption because they had been adopted by the afternoon.

Well the adoption fee was 35$ last year. Then the adoptions flew out. Then they raised it to 50$ a few months ago.. adoptions were still going good, but they just raised it to 75$ the other day and I havent seen many go out. Also, they have partners that they ship pups to bc no one seems to adopt them much and they have so many they cant keep them all. Also, the money wouldnt goto Oreo and up there, it really cant help her. People arent hardly ever at the pound, so theres no way I can volunteer. My gma is working on getting a new shelter built then I can do all that. Im going to try to help her.
