what is this??

OKay my dog Bandit, is coughing and hacking, as if he is going to through up, but never does..but when he does its white and kinda foamy?..I've been begging my grandmother to take him to the vet, but she just wont drive me up there...but I think i may end up walking...he is really starting to scare me..anyone know what this might be..at first I thoguht it might just be allergies..but i don't think it is allergies..there has also been small traces of blood in his poop.

Heartworms? Has he been tested for them?
There are no symptoms at all until the disease is very advanced. Then, the symptoms are those of congestive heart failure: dull coat, lack of energy, coughing, difficulty breathing, perhaps fainting spells and an enlarged abdomen. Waiting for symptoms to develop is not a realistic alternative to prevention.

Well maybe you caught it early. You better take him to the Vet before the same thing happens to him that happened to Missy. Make Nanny, I know you can!

How long has he been doing this? Is he listless? Feel his stomach- This sounds like bloat to me. He needs to see a vet immediately.

If your dog's condition continues you should really at the very least call the vet adn ask for advice. It could be a number of things, kennel cough, heartworm and the list goes on.

trying to vomit with nothing coming up and alot of exercize after eating are symptoms for stomach torsion but I dont think thats what it is b/c the dog doesn't last more than a day when it has this. how long has bandit been caughing? the foam is saliva that bandit is not swallowing so maybe his esophagus is irritated
