Unhappy why...

Well, I went to the vet today...and Bandit has heartworms...very badly...and when the vet was telling me I just cried..and i'm crying now...b/c he means so much to me and i can't belive it..I thought it would be something different something not so bad..but it had to be this...and he doesnt have much longer..and he is on medication to make his symptoms go away or calm them down..but it wont be long..and he is my little boy and loosing him is going to be **** (sorry) but i just can't stand it..he is so happy and plays all the time and when he stops doing that he wont be bandit..he runs and runs alllll the time like nothing is wrong with him..even when he coughs he just looks at me and does little dances..omg i'm going to miss him so much when he is gone..i just don't know what to do you guys..i'm so heartbroken.

No we got him from someone that lied to us and said that he'd had shots and everything...and his symptoms like just started..so we thought he was okay.

i think the situation is just terrible. i am so sorry to hear about you baby.
this is why it is so important to have dogs screened at the vet regardless of what someone tells you. better safe than sorry. does the vet say its to late to help? thats sort of what i am getting from your post. once again my deepest sympathies.

I am so sorry...
that is why breeders(good ones) urge you to get a vet check within 72 hours of getting your puppy... I urge all of you to do this..
I hope your baby can be healed....I will pray for you and your dog

it is way to late...the vet had this look like omg he's still alive...b/c he is still all jumping around like nothing is wrong..but he has a heart mummer that is very loud..and she said it was just very bad...and he is taking some medicine that will calm the symptoms down..like coughing..he's already started on those..and its just so weird b/c soon he wont be so hyper and cheerfull...but if i do get another dog after him...Vet immediatly after I get it.

How old is he?? How long have you had him?
I could be wrong but I thought it could be treated at just about any stage.
