Growing up

Well, my baby is growing up. Today some dog was getting carried away with play and was actually trying to hurt Ariel. Usually, she would yelp and run away or to me.

Today not only did she not run away but made quite a show of herself without getting aggressive. All without a single sound. I just hope this is how she'll be as an adult - quiet strong self confident but not aggressive.

The dog that "chased/bothered" her had the pack take down and beat up a chocolate lab just as we got to the park.

He was a pack leader. 45 lbs of unfixed male. The little brat even tried to mark me. He wasn't seriously trying to hurt the other dogs. Pitti - you'd have been proud of Ariel - she used her weight to hold her own - I was impressed since she never lost her cool.

I am proud of her...

I'm still saying.Stupid Owners! unfixed male running off leash..They are just adding to the overpopulation problem,NOT helping it....

What if your dog had been an unspayed female & in heat & he had gotten to her,what would his owner's have said,"Op I guess she's gonna have puppies!"{note the hillybilly red-neck voice}

Good for her, Dax Mine hasn't gotten to that point yet, he's still... at "Mommy help me, walk away so I can heel, maybe it will go away"

Pittie, if her dog was an unspayed female in heat, it would be her mistake and problem if she were to get pregnant, not the male dog's party.

Then I'd be one of the stupid people... I'd have to have a real serious conversation about my intelligence level. Especially taking a female in heat to the dog park.

But there are people like him (the owner) out there, who want a dog intact because it's macho. More testosterone bull if you ask me.

i'm trying to make a point about how it's stupid to have an intact male dog running loose with other dogs....

His owner should be altered too.

I agree!! Do you think vets should offer two for one deals. Maybe coupons "Get dog & yourself done in one afternoon - save the world"

If Dax took an unspayed female in heat to the park.. we REALLY would have to reconsider her position as MOD on the DOG FORUMS! LOL

Ariel, GOOD GIRL! Way to be a woman! Don't let those big mean boys bully you. You burn that bra.. oh sorry, got a little carried away... LOL

Its Saturday morning!!!! One more day of grumpy brides this week! YEE HAW!
