Ellierat: phantom pregnancy question...

To the queen of all that is a female dog's cycle:

My Unlce's 4 year old balck lab, Penny, is now in the midst of her first phantom pregnancy. I have no idea what day she is on... (I will find out tomorrow..) she is lactating and has started nesting. I know he took her to the vet, but I was hoping for a little inside information that I could give to him.. maybe calm his nerves a little... I know you just went through a bed one with ellie, how did that turn out??
LOL... my uncle told me he is giving everyone an "invisible puppy" for Christmas this year.... LOL

Thanks for you help!!

I'll have silver...lol. lol.

Has he had an xray or ultrasound to definately rule out pups?
It has taken Ellie almost 2 full weeks after an invisible expected whelping date to get back to normal...almost...
Her teats are starting to shrink back up, that was the only thing I had to really watch, she is still licking her vulva now and again and whining a bit.
I ended up ignoring her, the more I played into it with her..the more whining. etc.
Want to know anything specific like what his dog is doing did ells do it? write back in.

No need to have the xray, he did not attempt to breed her and, although she normally stays outside, in a nice little fenced-in run area while they are not home, but while she was in heat, she stayed inside. The vet said it was phantom.

Anyway, I think she is actually 2 not 4... just realized that, since this is only her 3rd or 4th heat cycle...

I will see my aunt tomorrow (family birthday party, grammy is 83!! ) and find out the specifics of what she is doing... then I am sure I will have many more questions for you thanks ellierat!!

Hey, speaking of silver labs...does anyone have any info on them? My friend just bought one, and that was the first I ever heard of them. Of course I asked probably the most famous question..."Is it a weim or part weim?" She has a beautiful yellow female and would lke to breed. They are genetically sound?

Silver labs are a variation of chocolate. If they are registerable by AKC, they are registered as chocolate. That is about all I know
