new foster pup. sickly. worms.

well this is a 6th foster dog this year. this one came to me from a 12 y/o boy. i was sitting outside with a friend when some kinds walked up to me and said "hey do you want this dog?"he sais that he had gotten it that morning form a guy behind the store and he has decided he doesn't want it so i took in. well i noticed that he had runnny poop. and then i would find piles of long white worms in clear liqud so im not sure if he is pooping them out or throwing them up. i dewormed him at 8 tonight with safe-guard. i gave him the dose and now is unually sleepy. should i be worried? normally he runs around and chances people. right now he lays there and just watches you walk by here are pics.

Safe guard for horses or dogs ?

I would not be too worried, the meds can make him feel sick once the worms start to die but he should be ok in a day or two. Make sure he is drinking. If you are really worried call the vet and ask what they recommend.

You are a very kind person to take the pup in like that. HUGS to you.

You're so sweet to have taken the poor puppy, he's adorable!! If a 12 yr old boy decided he "didn't want it" after only a day...it's scary to think what might have happened to the poor thing. Shame on the man behind the store who just hands a puppy over to a 12 yr old boy. What the heck are some people thinking?

he wont eat anything today. i even tried to give him some chicken and got no reaction. he has lost a ton of weight over night. he isn't pooping or throwing up worms. and his poo is still watery.

glucose.....where would i get that at? or should i just use sugar? he has a drop of blood in his last stool and its still watery. i tried to give him chicken broth as soon as he tasted it he spit it out and gaged.it said that i should give the wormer once a day for three days but im not going to right now.

I would suggest taking the puppy to a vet becasue even though you dewormed him doesn't mean that it cleared up the problem or that was the only thing wrong with him. Please take him t the vet becaseu this seems more serious then what you are making it.
