Rescued GSD

A really nice couple I know that absolutely adores and spoils their pets lost a GSD to HD last year and a Bermese (sp?) to cancer a few weeks ago. They were heartbroken...and they said that Bailey their other dog was very depressed, moping around and not eating much so they made a decision pretty quickly to get another dog. They decided to get a GSD and were hoping to rescue one.

I was poking around on some different dog forums Wednesday and on this one site that is not a rescue board I saw a post for an adult GSD for sale..so I read it expecting to see a post like "Whozyfuzzits von Mieserbriesrs Sch II etc"....instead there is a listing for a young male GSD abandoned in the woods!

The listing said he was a nice dog likes people and other dogs and didn't seem to have a problem with cats etc and that his rescuers were looking to find him a good home, they had even made him a web page http://hondos-home.gotpetsonline.com/ and that he was in Pittsburgh! 30 minutes away in fact!
I got so excited! I called Sue and asked if they were still looking...she said yes but they were getting a little discouraged, all the dogs they were interested in were really far away and they had just discussed that morning giving it a rest for a while.

I told her about Hondo She got excited She called her husband, he called the rescuers, they went to meet Hondo yesterday at 2:30, she called me at 4 and said He's Here Woo Hoo!

Seems like it was meant to be. He's going to have a great life from now on. They changed his name to Henry...(he's only been Hondo since last Saturday) and I'm going to meet him in a few days.
