Lucky did good Saturday!

I posted earlier about concerns about my dog Lucky and how he acts around other dogs. Well, I decided to take him to the Strut you Mutt event anyways. I figured if he didn't behave I'd just bring him home. Well he started out barking his head off at every dog he saw (we got there early). Then a lab puppy got loose and came running and barking up to us. Poor Lucky about had a cow. He was afraid of the puppy and was hiding behind me! Barking a lot, though. I calmed him down, and we walked around some more, and a huge Newfoundland came running up to us. I hollered at him to stop and he did. But after that, Lucky was pretty calm. He only barked at dogs that came really close to him or sniffed him. We were there for 4 or 5 hours and he was by far not the worst behaved dog there! We stopped by the cat rescue on the way home, and I put him in a pen beside the owner's dog. They pretty much ignored each other. But when I got him out of the pen to go home, he turned around to face the other dog, and went into a play bow, wagging his tail! YAY!!! Now I just have to keep finding ways to expose him to other dogs. What a good boy!

That's great.. It speaks well that this is a behavior you will be able to help him overcome. Way to go LUCKY... We're all here (right behind you in case it's a scary dog)
