In need of rescue

This is Nessy , an 18 month old border collie mix with an extraordinary birth defect. Although it looks debilitating she gets around very well and keeps up with other dogs. She is an extremely active, playful and intelligent little lady. She does not even seem to realize she is handicapped. She likes cats and other dogs. It takes her a little bit to get used to little kids. If you have any interest in rescuing this adorable lady please call the Humane Society of Utah at 801-261-9577 Mon - Sat 10-5 and Sun 12-4 and ask for Brandon Clark, Lori or Destiny. They will be able to answer any questions you might have. Thank you for your interest, help and concern for this little lady.

She is also about 85% housebroken.......she will let you know that she needs to go out by quietly laying by the door.

She has a lovely face.

Is that a double paw that she has?

She's beautiful. If I lived closer, I wouldn't hesitate to take her just because her paw looks differently.

Shes so sweet looking. I hope she finds a home soon. If I was anywhere near her I would snatch her up. I have a thing for animals with deformities. I have a rabbit that has a huge tumour in her eye I adopted oir else she would be destroyed. A deaf rabbit I adopted, again would be destroyed. And I even saved one of my feeder fish from being eaten by my pet turtle becuase he is missing both eyes, I figured it was to fair of game for the turtle now he resides in a 30 gallon aquarium al to him self and 2 buddis of his that are missing tails lol.

So what is it exactly wrong with her. 2 legs? 2 paws? kinda hard to tell in the picture.

her paw is actually the thing hanging from her elbow......it is like it was not connected while she was in her mother. almost like it just peeled away from her leg bone. I am not really sure how it happened but she is a happy go lucky pooch.
Thanks so much for caring,
Lesli

Nessy is in her new home

I want to take this time to thank everyone who was thinking and praying for Nessy. She arrived at her new home in the animal sanctuary in San Diego yesterday. She has adjusted well and has made lots of new friends. Thank you all again.
Sincerely,
Lesli
