Maddux bit by a tick

We found it, and got it off of him. He's on frontline. He should be fine right?

Sorry . cannot help.. In Spain if caught by a tick they still say take to the vet whether on frontline or not.
Is Maddux showing any unusual symptoms?

what exactly are you worried about? keep in mind, not all ticks carry lyme disease.

I agree with Faith. Wood ticks are far more common and the do not carry Lyme. Was the tick embeded? If it was and it is a lyme carrying variety, I STRONGLY BEG you to take Maddux in for a Lyme titer. If infected it is imparative to have antibiotic treatment ASAP. The sooner the better. Left untreated and/or un-noticed, Lyme can ravage a body--canine or human!
I had a very terrible bout with Lyme in 97. I still have residual effects.
Find out what kind of tick and if it potentially carries the disease. Go from there. I'm suprised, my doggies have never had a tick on frontline.
I'd ask the vet when it is best to titer test as well, with humans sometimes it lies dormant for a good month or so. Here they do a titer if you have symptoms right away and automatically prescribe antibiotics, Doxicycline is the only one said to be truly effective. I was given a different one, for 3 months, and my titer just kept rising. I HATE ticks! I wish I could wear Frontline and douse my kiddo with it too!

Jay,
It appears we've still got th same dog...lol
Georgie got a tick while we were camping this weekend. I got it out pretty quickly though. It was probably a deer tick as there were deer all over the place at the state park we were at (but I really have no idea how to identify ticks, so I don't know).
