Frankie and Fireking

Hi Frankie, I've been up to my ears in grandkids this week so I haven't been able to see how Fireking is doing. Has the humidity over there ceased a little so he's more comfy? It's finally cooled off to about 75 degrees here and we can breathe again. No rush on getting back to me, I was just sitting here thinking about the two of you. Take care!

Yo, Frankie--Like sassynan, wondering if Fireking is still up and having his good days. How's the new job? I'll keep checking for your answer, but don't have to rush, I can wait till you're not busy also.

Hi Sassynan and Pung-yo
Thanks for the posts.
Fireking is doing really well and yes the weather has cooled over the last couple of days.
He still has his ups and downs and i hate to post that he is doing really well as I am frightened of tempting fate.
As for the new job it was my first day and although this sounds awful I was so busy that i could not phone david until lunchtime to get an update.
The only update was that he had his head in his hands and was missing me.
Made the afternoon sadder but it is a good job. will pay the vet bills easier which is a great relief off my mind and it is the sort of job that I used to do back in the UK.
The bosses seem nice and there are only two other members of staff who have said they will cover me if I need to get home in a hurry.
So things are looking positive.
Have to drive 100 km a day for this job but dont care if it gives Fireking all he needs.
Thanks to you both for your concern and I wish I could keep in touch more often but it is a long day and when i get home I have to look after my baby and give him his cuddles and supper.
So both take care and I shall keep you informed as and when I can.
Thanks again
Take care
Lots of Love
Frankie and Fireking the Fighter

"Fireking the Fighter" I love that name. I think that "Frankie the Fantastic" is an appropriate name too!! I love how much you love your boy.
Best wishes and Peace to you, your husband and Fireking!!

Thanks for the update Frankie, glad the job is going well. Fireking is soooo lucky to have you and David to look after him. Take care of yourself, don't run yourself down too much. Always thinking of you and Fireking.

Thanks to you all.
I really appreciate your support.
Still miss Fireking dreadfully while I am at work but fortunately the company is so busy that I do not have much time to worry about Fireking - sounds awful but the vet bills need to be paid and except for lunch hours on expensive mobile calls to David for updates to know how Fireking (and of course David is - who I now only see at weekends really as we do shifts so Fireking is never left alone)
Fireking doing really well. Have just ordered another 10 kilos of special food for him and Paco the vet is so surprised. But as I have said many times before I am a positive thinker and Fireking is a real fighter.
I hope I am not tempting fate but he almost seems to be getting better? He is not drinking so much nor urinating as much and he has not lost his appetite - in fact it has increased - but he loves my cooking) although this is against the vets advice Sorry vets out there but he is my dog and I think I know him better than my vet and the vet warned me that he would lose weight very quickly but he has not so far - but he is not being overfed. Just a little extra with gravy to make him eat his medicine.
The new job is going well and they have a dog called Penny who is a border collie who is 15 years old but has arthritis but she comes and sits by my desk every day for hours and that means so much to me. It is almost as if she understands what I am going through and giving me support. Might sound daft but that is helping me through the working day.
AND I had a bonus today that the new bosses have decided that although my official hours are 10 - 6 with one hour lunch because of the hot weather - it will increase in August they have changed the staff hours to 9 - 3 without any lunch break. same pay. so I will have to get up earlier but that does not bother me at all but it means that I get home earlier to see my baby.
Have to go now as Fireking is looking forward to his supper and so am I as I forgot to take my lunch out of the fridge and have not eaten all day so we are both looking forward to some steak & kidney with a little mash and gravy.
Take care all of you and thanks again for your concern.
Lots of Love
Frankie and Fireking the Fighter

Hooray! Sounds like things are getting better for both you and Fireking. Your new work hours sound perfect. It's easy to go without a lunch hour if it means you get an extra hour at night with your baby. What you say about the owners dog is probably true, and the dog knows that you are a dog lover. Dogs are very good judges of people! I'm so glad he's there to help you through your day. Well, I don't want you to waste anymore time reading this so I'll end it now. Go enjoy the rest of your day and tell Fireking that we're all so happy that he's feeling better!

Hi all
Thanks Mara for the comment of Frankie the fantastic - it was a lovely title and I have to say that I had overlooked it before but really made my day tonight - but I am not special we all do what we can for our beloved puppies. Even though "Fireking the Fighter" is nearly 10 soon he is so special we would do anything for him.
He still has his bad days but more good than bad. And long may this continue.

Sassynan / Deirdrie. I know that I told you both to rest but you know what it is like when you have a poorly baby and you will do anything for them.

Pung-Yo I am actually enjoying the job - although not the journey. quite a distance but pretty good money for Spain so needs must. It really helps having the owners dog Penny - a border collie - come and visit me daily and rest by my feet but not the same as my own baby and I must not get too attached to Penny as she is old and I could not bear losing two at the same time. But she is a comfort to me and helps me through the day. Just have to be careful that I do not tread on her. My new bosses Mary and John say they used to have to look all over the place for her but they always know where she is now and that if she needs a drink or to be taken upstairs to bed then they trust me to do this for her so that is nice.

Thanks to you all as always for your concern and support.
Always appreciated
Frankie and Fireking the Fighter.
