Can dogs get warts

Lance was petting Kota and found a little bump on her side. I pulled the hair away from it and it's not a sore or anything. It just looks like a little bump. It's about the size of a pea. Maybe a raised birth mark?

I have two Poodles and they are notoriously known for growing bumps and lumps of all sizes.

I would just watch it for signs of growth or irritation. Then I would run it by the vet next visit. It's most likely nothing. Cali, our Pom, has a little wart-like thing on her chin with a hair sticking out of it (very feminine!).

On the other hand, Bogey had a small lump on his side that started to grow and it wound up being cancerous. That's surely the exception though.

Dogs do get warts, but they usually don't "pop" up until nearing their senior years. It's probably just a little cyst, like Debbie said , keep a close eye on it for sudden growth if it will be a while before next Vet. visit.
