Mom found a kitten. Update with GRAPHIC pictures. Warning

She was at McDonald's and found a kitten. Unfortunately I don't think she is going to be able to save it. If she had more money she could but it needs surgery. I'm not sure if its male or female. It's a little gray one. Infested with fleas and ticks. It's tail has been injured and has got maggots in it. It needs to be amputated. Mom wanted to try docking herself but I told her no. It looks like it's farther up than docking would solve and I don't believe we should be the ones doing it anyway. I got a couple snap shots of him/her. We gave it a bath to get the fleas and ticks off and put some antiseptic spray on the tail. I don't know if she will just hand the kitten over to the shelter in the morning or what. But if the tail can be taken care of he should be OK.. He drank some Gatorade on his own. He's very alert, not lethargic. His gums are white..no doubt from the tail and infestation.. I think he's got a chance as long as we can get the tail fixed.

The sore you see by his nose and mouth were where ticks were.

Try putting half a capsule of Asadopholus, Vit. C, and garlic capsule into his water. Add some honey until it is thicker. Then syringe it in. I swear this is what saved our little Sparrow.

Doglovin what is that suppose to do? The life threatening part is his tail which really needs to come off. The rest can be taken care of easily. He is alert and will eat/drink on his own.

Well I think I've contacted a rescue in frankfort that can get him into the vets before monday! yippee. He also recommended my mom put her elderly cat on the BARF diet. So he's going to help with that. This guy sounds like an angel for pets! Hopefully everything will go as planned and this little fella will get all better and be able to find a loving home. I'll keep you posted.

Update:

We have one person offering to help pay for this kittens surgery. Another is contacting vets to see if they will do it at a reduced/free price and perform the surgery today! Yesterday he had pink gums today he doesn't. We think he has a slight temperature and the fleas are eating him up. We are not sure how old he is so we are putting flea spray on a towel and wrapping him up in it for a few minutes to help kill some of the fleas. We do not want to put it directly on him because of his current condition. I've posted a couple of pictures above. The last shows his tail which is really bad right now.

another update.

Gary (who was looking for free/reduced vets) just picked up the kitten from moms place and is taking him to the vet. Lets hope he makes it. We've done all we can now.
