Just curious as to how many of us her do rescueing. I have been rescuing for 15 years now. Currently I have two ferrets I got from a rescue, Luca(GSD) I got from a rescue, a cat i got from a rescue and a cat I rescued at 2 weeks old myself from a dumpster. Just curious about everyone else.

YES, I do rescue. I have been doing Dobermans for about 2 years and just recently got involved with Great Dane rescue.
Also just "adopting a dog" is not "doing" rescue.

i do home visits for a lab rescue group. it's the only side of rescue i have the stomach for. i could never be the one who picks up an abused dog, i'd be in jail too often.

but home visits have been a very positive experience for me. i'm able to help labs get placed, and help educate the potential adopters on a variety of topics.

I guess if you mean "rescue" by finding dogs new homes, I have been doing this for years. There is always someone stuck with a "problem" or "unwanted" dog. So with all the dog friends I have and working at the vet clinic, it gives me the chance to find them all homes. I also visit our shelter once a week and if there is a dog that has been there for seven days, I know his/her time is up, so I buy it and rehome it. I also bring some to a group who have a no kill policy, and they place them in foster homes until they can rehome them. I used to keep one or two, but with the service dogs, the training facility that got me my dogs are not ken on me having different dogs in the home. But I'm sure they will come around, I do a great job of begging lol.

I have done animal rescue all my life I lived in a military place used to pick up dogs once a week at the pound and rehome them they would be turned in by transfering families young wonderful dogs, it was easy to find them homes. I have done tons of other rescues to but not many right now I am just not set up for it right now.

I was a foster home for 13 years and did volunteer training for shelters and pounds for same amount of time also. So I was directly involved in rescue that way. But I also see people who do adopt these animals as being a part of the rescue chain. Simply because without them no animal could be rescued to a new home. No place to put them. Just my opinion.

At the moment we are trying to save a little kitten. Mom is nursing it the best she can and I'm trying to find funding to get this cat into surgery.

Home visits, fund raising, caring for ill and sick dogs, training and retraining dogs, socializing, cleaning kennels, meet and greets, reviewing applications, those are all things I consider to be rescue.
Dont get me wrong I LOVE the people who adopt, but thats who they are, they are adopters.

I also feel if you breed, you are contradicting yourself are a rescue person.
We as rescue people battle breeders day in and day out, we get their "rejects". Then have to put all the time and money into them for them to become an adoptable dog.
just my opinion.

I work at a petstore which has a rescue ran out fo it called Cat Tails and my family helps run it. We have been with them for almost a year now. My parents worked at a different one before that for 6 years. Ive rescued MANY cats and some dogs ever since I was little. My most recent was a little kitten that some retards were going to run over. My sister took the her away and brought it to me. She was too young to be away from her mom so was a lot of work. She is the cutest thing ever and so pretty (diluted calico)
