Exclamation Free 8 month old Eng. Pointer Available

He's 8 months old according to the Arizona Humane Society. He is an English Shorthaired Pointer (pure bred without papers). He has been neutered, and vaccinated for rabies and parvo. He had a heartworm test at the shelter and it came back negative. He is ready for a good home, but requires training and lots of attention (this breed is VERY ACTIVE!!!!!!!!). He is crate trained, and almost completely house broken (but he sometimes will "forget" to tell you he needs to go outside). He is good with other dogs, and is very curious about cats, but seems okay with them too. He will include a brand new kennel, food and water dishes, matching collar and leash, and medical records. He is a sweet dog, but he is more than our busy schedules can accommodate. We would love to keep him, but we don't have the time to give him the attention he needs and deserves. We would really like to find a home for him so we don't have to take him back to the shelter. The Arizona Humane Society it NOT a no kill shelter and we would hate for him to get put down due to lack of space. Here are a couple of pictures of him and there are a few more in this thread http://www.prodoggroomingsupplies.co...ad.php?t=22218.

Youneed to stop getting puppies. The last one you got you couldnt handle and it was a bulldog. What would make some one think that a german shor hair wouold be any more relaxed.

Agreed- that's not right. Adopting and buying dogs is not a 'trial' time - it's a dog for life. If you're searching for the right breed then maybe try FOSTERing a couple dogs. Then if you like them, there is always the option of adopting, but if not, you're not forced to.

Call a pointer rescue, they will take him in a heart beat!

I agree with the others, you cant just "try" out dogs to see if you like them.

Why didn't you do your research on this breed before you took him on? Don't the rescues check that you know what you're letting yourself in for when you take on these puppies??? Isn't it in your contract that you have to take him back to the rescue if you decide not to keep him? You've only had him a week and you want to find him another home

All credit for you to for trying to find him a new home but I really do think that you should have given him more than a week before you decided to give up on him.

And you've had this dog how long now? I'm thoroughly unimpressed with your committment to an animal you willingly adopted. Call me mean, but there it is. Please read the thread in this forum regarding people and their excuses for getting rid of their pets. It might be talking about you.

i notice there is also some very pointed comments in that thread that you are being very careful to avoid.

it's easy to come to a forum like this and get caught up in the idea of "rescuing" a dog because others are doing it. please stop adopting and then dumping dogs.

I feel very sorry for your dog. Please do not advertise him as free on the internet. Contact Pointer Rescue so he will be properly placed in a forever home and not simply passed around again. http://www.pointerrescue.org/
