Weezy has a diagnosis!!

Well.. it's actually great news. Our best option was what she has.

She has Addison's Disease. Very treatable. They are referring her to as "atypical addisonian". She does still have pancreatitis, but they think it's secondary and very mild. She is to stay on a mild/bland diet and continue her stomach protectants through the course of the prescription. She has also started prednisone, and will be for the rest of her life. However, Addison's is basically a normal, active life! She will be able to still live a full life, and she will feel much better.

For those of you who might remember, about a year ago we thought she was hypothyroid. Things just suddenly sort of changed for her. We are thinking its quite possible those were the first signs something might have been wrong. Also, 3 weeks ago when she was projectile vomiting --which was lumped together as heat exhuastion was probably related as well.

I will make another post about what Addison's is later. I'm sure it will be helpful knowledge to everyone. It's quite the bizarre and rare disease, however doctors love to diagnose it! It answers just about everything, even abnormal things.

Her blood pressure is back up. We did some IV hetastarch today to help with oncotic pressure and to help with her packed cell volume. Unfortunately, her albumin dropped even lower along with her total protein. We're not horribly worried, because as soon as her Addison's stabilizes so will everything else. She is also anemic right now, and unfortunately it's non-regenerative. Meaning, her body is not regenerating for the blood loss (wherever.. most likely from her bloody vomit).

So good news!! YAY!

So happy that you found her problem and can start treatment. Very closely related to Cushing's.
