i just need to vent.

i know that it's unusual for some people to find someone who works in rescue, but please, for the love of god, i can not help you solve the problem of your neighbor letting the dog bark at night.

i do not have the training, qualifications, equipment, etc, to pick up your Aunt's dog because she doesn't want it anymore.

i am not a mind reader or animal behavior specialist. i can't read a petfinder listing and tell you if it's a good dog for your children.

i AM going to judge your stupid wife who wants to get rid of your dog because it growled at your hellion children when it pulled it's tail.

there are some days i really love being a resource for folks on being a dog owner, but there are days i really wish no one knew i was into them.

I'm sorry.

Not much else to say about that... you do good and people tend to take advantage, it's a shame, but thanks for what you do.

Well put Faith----frustrating at times to say the least. It's a shame people don't get more educated.

That must be frustrating. What really bothers me is people that think they know everything there possibly is to know about dogs though. And don't even consider any advice that you may offer them. But that must be annoying, sometimes people just want to be left alone, and others don't seem to get that.

the funny thing is, i can't seem to get it across to some folks i work with is that the fact that i do home visits for a lab rescue group does not make me someone who's an expert on anything. lol

Maybe you are the only one with at least a reputable amount of experience that they know firsthand that they can trust? Wow, that was a mouthful, hah.

I used to work at a pet supply store and have done soooo much dog research on sooo many levels that I am often the person dog park people come to with questions. I'm more than happy to help them if I do know what they need, but if not I always direct them to someone who can!

Maybe Buddy's mom is right Faith. They see you as an experienced caring person and they trust you. I know it gets annoying, but refer them if you can and give them the best of your knowledge if you can't refer them. Maybe look on it as a compliment, it would help the frustration LOL.

Oh faith i feel your pain LOL, since i work as a vet tech, groomer and rescuer i am constantly getting phone calls or people asking me to fix thier problems. I'm not a vet, i dont know whats wrong with your dog i can only advise you to take it to the vet i can not treat your dog!! No i can not explain to you how to groom your dog properly but if you bring it to me i will be happy to groom it for you, No i can not take your dog because you dont want it anymore, i am not a shelter.. Its enough to drive some one mad. Although on occasion i have taken in certain dogs to help rehabilitate them but i have a rule 1 dog at a time no more than that ever!!!
