Woman pleads not guilty to animal cruelty charges

(Bridgeport-WTNH, Aug. 9, 2006 5:40 PM) _

A Fairfield woman pleads not guilty to more than 100 charges of animal cruelty.

44-year-old Robin D'Urso entered her plea in Bridgeport Superior Court on Tuesday.

She also pleaded not guilty to 95 counts of failure to vaccinate dogs.
D'Urso, a self proclaimed animal rescuer, was arrested in late July when police found 130 dogs crammed into cages around her house.

hoarders have deep mental problems. i can't understand how 130 dogs go unnoticed by neighbors? the smell alone had to be horrible.

glad to hear the dogs are out of there, i hope they get good homes.

this is an update to an earlier thread. neighbors did call and complain, and the police went to the home 46 times, but she would never let them in.

they finally got a warrant to go on her property and found all this.

oh, thanks. it really took 46 times to get a warrant? holy cow! i don't understand what could have taken so long, if there were so many complaints.

I understand privacy laws and trying to protect our rights, but come on! wouldn't stinky, nasty dogs everywhere fall under probable cause?

If someone ever gets the end to this I'd sure like to know. She probably won't get anything, fine or jail, they will find her insane I'm sure. But really, don't you think someone has to be a little odd to live in the middle of such a mess and stench? In her mind she probably thoughtgshe was doing those dogs a favor. I hope the poor dogs will be able to find proper homes.
